Barkers Engineering launches recruitment drive after record month

Vacancies at the Stoke-on-Trent company include production operatives a customer service administrator and apprentices

An engineering firm has launched a recruitment drive for more than a dozen new staff on the back of a record month.

Barkers Engineering, based in Stoke-on-Trent, is on the look out for 10 plant operatives and eight apprentice plant operatives to join its team at its Fenton finishing plant.

The jobs drive comes after Barkers enjoyed a record month of sales in June.

Established in 1863, Barkers – which employs more than 190 staff – is a manufacturer of high-performance fencing products for a wide variety of industries including rail and road, education, sports and leisure and retail.

It also offers glavanizing and powder coating services for external companies – a process which prolongs the life of mild steel products.

It has remained operational for most of the Covid-19 pandemic as its high security products are used in critical infrastructure for projects based in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
