Welsh language channel S4C has appointed Axiom Media as its exclusive sales representative for advertising and sponsorship.

The deal, which comes into effect from January, will see Axiom selling all advertising and sponsorship opportunities for S4C on linear TV, on-demand viewing, digital platforms, and teleshopping.

London-based Axiom Media is the largest independent Ƶ sales house representing leading global broadcasters and publishers for both digital and linear video inventories. It will take over the contract from Sky Media. The Welsh-language channel generated £1.37m in commercial income in its last financial year.

Sian Doyle, S4C chief executive, said: “I’m delighted that we will partner Axiom as we seek to take full advantage of the opportunities that exist for S4C as we execute our new commercial strategy.

“Axiom will work with us to maximise our commercial revenue generation with strong advertising and sponsorship opportunities.”

Jeremy Lawrence, Axiom Media chief executive, said: “Being given the opportunity to work with S4C, Wales’ premier media organisation, is a fantastic opportunity.

“Axiom will offer S4C a joint stakeholder partnership to support its commercial growth strategy.”
