A company launched by the man behind LoveFilm and Zoopla has been named the new principal commercial partner and shirt sponsor of Aston Villa.

Online car retailer Cazoo will replace Asian betting and gaming firm W88 whose one-year deal comes to a close at the end of the extended 2019/20 season.

Cazoo branding will feature on the playing kits and training wear of all sides from next season, including the men's first team, throughout the academy and the women's set up as it embarks on its first season in the top tier Women's Super League.

For the first time in many years, the club's principal partner branding will also feature on all junior kits to be sold as well as throughout Villa Park stadium, on merchandise and across its website and media backdrops.

Aston Villa described the deal as "multi-year" but did not elaborate on exactly how long Cazoo will be on the club's shirts.

The online retailer comes from good business stock as its chief executive and founder is serial entrepreneur Alex Chesterman, the man behind movie rental service LoveFilm and house-selling website Zoopla.

He set up Cazoo, which offers both finance products and used car sales, in 2018 but launched the company late last year.
