Aston Martin DB5 replica auctioned for Goldfinger 50th anniversary

Unique third-scale replica created to mark half-century since Sean Connery film - the first James Bond movie to feature famous brand

A unique DB5 is going under the hammer to mark the 50th anniversary of Goldfinger - the first James Bond film to feature the famous car brand.

Film company and maker of Bond movies EON Productions has commissioned a one-off, gold-plated, third-scale replica of the spy's iconic DB5 which auctioneers Christie's is offering via an online auction in aid of children's charity NSPCC.

The replica has been signed by Bond production designer Sir Ken Adam who designed the Q branch modifications to the car for Sean Connery in the film.

Prop-makers Propshop, who created the model DB5 sports cars required for special effect scenes in the most recent Bond film Skyfall, have created under license, a one-off model with 24-carat gold plated detailing using 3D scans of the full size DB5.

It has radio controlled machine guns, bullet-proof shield and a revolving number plate.

The model is expected to sell for between £40,000 and £60,000 and is available for bidding on the Christie's website until September 17.

Also included in the sale will be a unique Goldfinger Seamaster Aqua Terra wristwatch created by Omega to celebrate the anniversary of the film.

The Seamaster watches have featured in every Bond movie since 1995 and this auction item is made in 18-carat yellow gold and the hands are coated with Super-LumiNova so they can be read in all conditions.
