Asian media industry talent set to be honoured in annual event

This year will also see Anwar Hussein, the longest-serving royal photographer, honoured with Outstanding Contribution to Media Award.

Naga Manchetty won Media Personality of the Year at last year's Asian Media Awards

The who’s who of the Asian Media industry will be honoured at an awards ceremony in Manchester next week.

The annual Asian Media Awards celebrates talent across journalism, TV, radio, print & online, marketing & PR and live productions.

Some of the most notable stories and investigations over 2018-19 alongside bloggers and broadcasters have been recognised for their innovative work.

The national awards will be held at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate on Thursday 24 October and will be attended by some of the leading media personalities from across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

This year will also see Anwar Hussein, the longest-serving royal photographer, honoured with Outstanding Contribution to Media Award.

Over a distinguished 40-year career, Hussein has travelled the world capturing the Queen in some of her most candid moments.

His first break as a photo journalist came during a Vietnam protest outside the American Embassy in Grosvenor Square, where Anwar was quick to document a mounted officer being dragged from his steed.

The image made the national papers and TV the following day.
