Amazon is looking to hire hundreds of seasonal staff for the key trading period at its fulfilment centre in . Across the 海角视频, the US-owned e-commerce business is recruiting to fill more than 15,000 seasonal positions.

Seasonal staff will be paid a minimum of 拢13.50 per hour (which will apply in Swansea) rising to 拢14.50 depending upon location. While Amazon couldn鈥檛 give an exact figure on seasonal jobs in Wales, it is expected to be in the region of 500 - around the same number as last year.

Amazon has invested 拢550m in increased pay for operations employees across the 海角视频 since 2022, representing a 35% increase in the hourly rate in just two years.

Its 海角视频 operations director Anil Verma said: 鈥淲e prepare year-round for the festive season, and we鈥檙e excited to have more than 15,000 positions available this year in the 海角视频. Our seasonal colleagues play an integral role in helping us deliver an exceptional experience for our customers.

Last month it announced a 9.8% increase in its starting pay for frontline operation workers. In Wales this has seen the starting wage being increased to 拢28,080 a year.
