Building materials and quarrying giant Aggregate Industries has struck a deal to work on the roads of the Scottish capital.
The Leicestershire company has won a place on a £101 million framework to construct, repair and maintain Edinburgh’s roads.
The business, which is based just outside Coalville, was successful in tendering on the City of Edinburgh Council’s Roads and Transport Infrastructure Construction Framework 2022-26.
The business was successful on two lots for schemes where the estimated value of works which will be delivered across both lots is £6.6 million per year – or £26.4 million in total.
The work will include planing, road surfacing, minor civils, street lighting, pedestrian crossings, road markings and traffic management.
Aggregate Industries is one of a number of contractors to be appointed to the framework.

Aggregate Industries has five asphalt plants spread across the Scottish Central Belt including its head office at Eurocentral, in Motherwell.
