Performance enhancing additives specialist Addmaster is helping retail giant Asda to boost hygiene across its stores with a new antimicrobial technology deal.

The Stafford-based business has seen its Biomaster technology rolled-out in supermarkets across the country after Asda joined forces with shop equipment specialist Wanzl.

It comes after supermarket pledged to boost the hygiene experience of its customers.

The deal has seen Asda join forces with Wanzl to use its Shield Master product on thousands of shopping trolley handles, door handles, hand baskets and colleague equipment.

The solution is powered by Addmaster鈥檚 Biomaster technology and follows extensive testing in laboratories and across a number of shops.

Paul Morris, founder of Addmaster and the creator of Biomaster antimicrobial technology, said: 鈥淎s the retail world adapts to the new demands and concerns of consumers, it has to provide an environment that is as safe as possible to encourage people back into stores.

鈥淥ur relationship with a market leader, such as Wanzl, is crucial to getting the technology adopted quickly so that it reaches large parts of society.鈥

Paul added: 鈥淲anzl Shield Master has also been applied to the luggage trolley handles at Birmingham airport, whilst our Biomaster technology is currently being introduced to protect surfaces for passengers inside airplane cabins.鈥
