A whole host of top-level appointments and promotions have been announced by businesses based across the North West over the last week.

Firms with operations in the likes of Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and further afield have been in contact with BusinessLive since our most recent North West round up.

Businesses in sectors from as diverse as law, technology, property and retail are among those who have made a series of moves in the last week.

The North West Business Leadership Team (NWBLT) has appointed Joëlle Warren, the founder and executive director at Warren Partners, as its new deputy chair.

She said: "I am very much looking forward to working with Jonathan, Emma and the rest of the board as we seek to lead, inspire and harness the power of business to help deliver sustainable prosperity for our region.

"With a £180bn economy, the North West is a significant region to º£½ÇÊÓÆµ PLC and the NWBLT plays a unique role within that in driving forward change in areas including decarbonisation, leadership diversity, responsible business practice, innovation and finance.

"It’s been exciting to see what has been achieved working with the group of thoughtful and committed NWBLT team members and I’m excited about playing my part in going forward in this new role."

Digital ID

Stockport-headquartered Digital ID, which is part of the global Barcodes group, has appointed Peter Walsh as its new head of mobile and enterprise solutions.

Mr Walsh, a former global business director at HID, was most recently the vice president global sales leader for OpSec Security.

In his new role, he will manage all aspects of the mobile solution for the company, including the development of a team to meet the anticipated demand.

He will also work to progress and improve ongoing relationships between Digital ID and the HID PACS (Physical Access Control) team in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

Manchester-headquartered law firm Glaisyers ETL has announced two appointments.

Nicola Clarke has been recruited as a senior associate and Gemma Wilson has joined as an assistant solicitor.

Ms Clarke has been hired from Thorneycroft Solicitors in Macclesfield, where she was an associate director and head of employment and HR.

Ms Wilson has joined from Stephensons Solicitors. She qualified into Stephensons’ employment department in 2020, having originally joined the firm as a graduate paralegal in 2015.

Savills has appointed Matthew Gibbs as a director in its northern planning team.

Mr Gibbs, a founding partner and former board director of DP9 Ltd, will work alongside the planning teams based in Manchester and Leeds, focusing on the North West and Yorkshire.

He has 28 years’ experience in planning consultancy, working on a wide range of projects for a varied client base, from individuals to large organisations, including Shell, Capco, Asda, ITV, and a large number of fund management groups.

Warrington-headquartered recruitment firm Talos360 has appointed Lyndsay Chapman as head of people.

Previously at TVS Supply Chain Solutions, she brings over 10 years’ experience in HR and people strategy including big brand and agency experience.

The hire marks the culmination of a year of growth for Talos360 which has added 30 new staff in 2021, growing its workforce to 101 employees across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, with another 43 planned for 2022.

Lyndsay Chapman said: "Talos360 has had a very impressive few years despite the pandemic and I am excited to be joining a talented and growing business who’s sole focus is to transform the workplace with people technology.

"I am really looking forward to supporting the business to deliver its strategic growth plans by providing best practice tools and techniques."

Blackpool and Preston-based nutrition brand YourZooki has bolstered its senior leadership team through a series of new hires and promotions.

Tyron King joins the business as financial director, having spent three years previously with EY.

Robert Dingle has been hired as head of operations from BAE Systems. while Sam Holmes joins as head of data, having previously spent time working for Amazon and retail strategy consultants Javelin Group.

YourZooki has also made two key promotions within the company, with Miles Mollinga assuming the role of head of customer retention, and Johnny Taylor promoted to head of customer acquisition.

Fanattik

Pop culture brand Fanattik, a licensing partner for Hasbro, Universal Studios, Capcom and Studio Canal, has appointed Melissa Tudor as creative director.

Managing director Anthony Marks said: "I am delighted to announce Melissa’s new role, she has been with Fanattik for more than three years, helping to shape our creative team which in turn has made Fanattik into a fan favourite brand within the world of Pop Culture."

The company supplies gift retailers throughout the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, Europe and beyond.

Liverpool Law Society

Liverpool Law Society has appointed Steven Zdolyny as its new president.

He has served as vice president of the society for two years and was previously joint honorary secretary for three years, having been a director since 2014.

Mr Zdolyny has served as a qualified solicitor in the North West since 1996 and is currently the general counsel at Kim Technologies.

He is supported by the new vice-president, Jo Francis of BLM.

Pixel Kicks, the Manchester based digital agency, has appointed Helen Goodyear as its newest digital marketing executive.

In her new role, she will mainly be focusing on devising strategically-creative SEO campaigns and engaging content for Pixel Kicks’ roster of clients. She will also be working on some PPC projects.

Prior to joining the agency, she worked at FNTC Training & Consultancy, iCandy Design and Rayburn Trading. She has also worked on a freelance basis.

Countryside Partnerships North

Countryside Partnerships North has appointed Joe Turner as managing director for the Manchester and Cheshire East region.

Prior to joining the region as an interim managing director in August 2021, he held the position of development director for the West Midlands region.

His 15-year-long career in the property sector started at Taylor Wimpey, where he spent nine years working as an engineer.

Following that, he was employed by RPS group and Persimmon, where he most recently held the role of the head of technical.

Southport-headquartered Alcedo Care Group has appointed a social media marketing manager.

Beckie Kinsella from Liverpool has worked in digital communications and digital marketing for over 10 years.

She is tasked with managing PPC and search campaigns, ensuring they achieve optimal results.

She is also responsible for producing content for social media platforms, including copywriting, design and video, working closely with the wider Alcedo team in each office to raise awareness and generate leads.

Envair Technology

Lancashire-headquartered Envair Technology, a specialist manufacturer of clean air and containment solutions for the healthcare, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, has announced the appointment of Andrew Ellison as its new chief executive.

Mr Ellison has worked for the business for the past four years as chief financial officer.

He will also oversee the group’s continued expansion overseas, as demand continues to increase for its containment solutions.

Professional Liverpool

Professional Liverpool has welcomed three leaders from the city region’s business community to its 13-strong board.

Laura Stuffins, a partner at the accountancy and business advisory firm BDO, and Kim Cooper, principal town planner at Arup, have taken up the roles.

They have been joined by Stephen Cowperthwaite, managing director at Avison Young and chair of the Liverpool Place Partnership.

Chief executive Andrew Ruffler said: "Laura, Kim and Stephen are each leaders in their respective fields who will add real value to our board.

"As an organisation we are here to help support economic growth over the coming years by acting as a focal point for the professional community and encouraging collaboration and driving positive change."

KOMI Group

KOMI Group, the Manchester headquartered social media, marketing and licensing business, has announced that Sam Lenehan has been appointed as its growth and strategy director.

Mr Lenehan has been a non-executive director of KOMI since 2020 and joins the business on a full-time basis from Urban Splash.

He was a director at House by Urban Splash, a partnership between Manchester-based, regeneration firms Urban Splash, the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ government (via Homes England) and Japan-based Sekisui House.

His new role will see him lead on a number of core areas including refining the company’s growth strategy, its governance and structure and mergers and acquisitions.
