Firms from across the Liverpool City Region have had a busy summer hiring new recruits and appointing new bosses.
With the region home to a huge variety of different sectors, appointments this month range from businesses making structural insulated panels to internationally renowned ship builders to digital learning pioneers.
Here is BusinessLive's pick of the bunch:
Paul Nicholls
Paul Nicholls has been appointed as business development manager at structural insulated panels firm Hemsec, based in Prescot.
An experienced sales professional in the construction sector, Mr Nicholls has been hired to help drive further planned growth and to "satisfy the building industry’s need for materials used in Modern Methods of Construction".
He said: “I will be working with architects, developers and housing associations to explain how SIPs can contribute towards improving building insulation and sustainability, provide larger internal building dimensions, greater construction efficiency and fewer snags, thereby reducing overall operational costs and reducing the time capital is tied up in a project.
“Currently many professionals working in the industry are unaware of the key benefits SIPs offer, and my job will be to demonstrate why they are such an important solution. This in turn will help the industry to address the housing crisis in the 海角视频, building more energy-efficient and affordable homes.”
Mark Kearsley
Mark Kearsley has been appointed as the new chairman for the Merseyside branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and Association of Taxation Technicians in the 90th anniversary year for the 海角视频's leading professional body for tax advisers.

A senior tax manager at DSG Chartered Accountants, Mr Kearsley takes up the position of chairman having been an active member of the committee for the last five years, latterly as vice chairman and programme secretary.
As chair, he will be responsible for setting the direction of the institute on Merseyside for the benefit of the regional business community.
Mr Kearsley said: "I’m looking forward to further building on the great work Michael has done for the last couple of years, including the delivery of a strong professional development programme to our members and providing opportunities to bring together local businesses through events such as our Annual Dinner.”
Claire Bennett
Contractor Wates Construction has appointed Claire Bennett as Business Development Manager for North West and North Wales, becoming the latest in a line of team changes as the business eyes continued growth.
Claire joins the business from MDA Consulting where she was Business Development Executive responsible for exploring new markets and developing new client relationships across Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle.
The firm's Liverpool City Region headquarters are based in Warrington, and Claire said: “Wates has a longstanding reputation as a trusted and expert contractor in the region, which makes my new role one that I can embrace with confidence and enthusiasm.
"I am very proud to join such a strong team and look forward to the emerging opportunities available to us and to contributing to the business’ ongoing success.”

Merseyside 海角视频 shipyard company Cammell Laird has appointed a new quality assurance manager to forge closer relationships with suppliers and bring best practice from other industries to his new role.
Gordon Maxwell is the new QA manager heading up a team of 19 striving to deliver the Wirral company's vision of "getting it right first time".
He said he is looking to take a more proactive approach to quality assurance as he draws on his experience of working for the likes of Philips Components and central heating manufacturer Baxi.
He said: “Our aim is to ensure customer satisfaction by building things on time, at the right quality for the right price.
“Cammell Laird is going through a transition period, with new orders and new opportunities coming in all the time. We have a good quality team here and we are trying to bring some new ideas to move quality upstream by being proactive.”
Robert Holbrook
A new Managing Director has been appointed at leading Warrington-based housebuilder Barratt and David Wilson Homes North West.
Robert Holbrook has taken the reins at the developer, which is currently building homes across Cheshire, Lancashire and Merseyside.
He said: “The first house I ever bought in 1992 was Barratt house. It was and still is a household name although times have changed in many ways. It is great to return to my home patch, as I have previously worked here for over eight years.”
Three new faces at MSB
Wavertree-based MSB Solicitors has grown its employment law and HR team in response to increased client demands.
The firm has recently recruited Hannah Dowd, who is a specialist employment law solicitor. MSB said Hannah joins from a prominent commercial firm and brings with her a "good pedigree and solid foundation in employment law and HR matters".
Aimee Benmayor has joined the team as a trainee solicitor as part of her training contract, and Stefanie Connor has joined the team as a legal assistant.
Tom Dillon and Stuart Belfield
Liverpool-based construction and development company, Crossfield Group, has strengthened its team with two appointments from major tier one contractors.
Former Wates Commercial Manager, Tom Dillon, will lead commercial operations across Crossfield Group, which has Construction, Living and Development arms.
Stuart Belfield has made the move from Willmott Dixon to become Operations Manager at Crossfield Living. He brings with him more than 30 years’ experience in the construction sector.
Tom said: “I’m very pleased to be joining Crossfield Group. It’s a growing business with an excellent reputation and is based in my hometown of Liverpool. I know firsthand that the leadership team here is experienced and astute as well as being fresh and agile, which is quite a powerful combination and accounts for their significant growth in recent years.”
Stuart said: “Crossfield has become a really strong name in the construction industry and the team here is earning respect for being dynamic, knowledgeable and competent, so it’s a pleasure to be able to join them and support their continued growth.”

Darren Power
Trade credit insurer Atradius has confirmed the appointment of Darren Power as head of commercial for the north.
Darren, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, joins Atradius’ Northern Hub.
Stuart Ramsden, head of commercial for Atradius 海角视频 and Ireland said: "Because Darren already knows the region and many of the businesses within it so well, we are confident that he is the right person to lead our already successful northern team and take it from strength to strength – we are delighted to welcome him aboard.’’
Steve Barber
Steve Barber, Managing Director of Wirral-based Bridging Finance Solutions (BFS), has been voted onto the new Board of Directors of the Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL).
The voting process for the Executive committee was finalised this month and the new Board of Directors appointed from September 1.
The board includes five lender member representatives and one associate member representative plus the CEO.
He said: “I am delighted to have been voted onto the Executive Committee as a Board Director of the Association of Short Term Lenders by my fellow professionals in the sector. The National Association, based in London, represents the interests of the short term property finance sector, currently worth in excess of £4bn.”

Martin Hilton
Digital learning firm CPL Online has announced the appointment of Martin Hilton as Director of Learning and Education.
Mr Hilton will work internally with an expanded learning and development team to further develop Birkenhead-based CPL’s suite of content, courses and tools.
Mr Hilton said: “I am excited to be a part of our challenge to provide blended opportunities on learning and training to our clients and to think of blended training as not just being a blend of digital and face to face training but indeed an opportunity to blend different medias.
