Wizz Air 海角视频 will start flights from its new base at Cardiff Airport this summer.
The British airline, of Europe鈥檚 fast grow airline group, has confirmed that, following the Welsh Government鈥檚 lifting of the ban on international travel, will start operations on 17 June.
Owain Jones, managing director of Wizz Air 海角视频, said: 鈥淲ith the re-start of international travel from Wales, we鈥檙e excited to be planning the start of Wizz Air 海角视频鈥檚 new base at Cardiff Airport in June, just in time for the holiday season.
"We鈥檝e been busy recruiting new colleagues, with the first training course in Cardiff already completed, and Wizz Air 海角视频鈥檚 Cardiff team is looking forward to welcoming customers on-board Wales鈥 new hometown airline.
"Our ultra-low fares to nine of the best holiday destinations will allow customers to 'fly local' to their favourite getaways, onboard Europe鈥檚 youngest and greenest fleet of aircraft, where they can rely on our stringent health and hygiene measures and excellent service as they travel on their long-awaited post-lockdown trips.鈥
The new base will be operating routes to Larnaca, Corfu, Heraklion, Faro, Alicante, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, and Tenerife, with flights to Sharm el-Sheikh planned to start in October.
Wizz Air鈥檚 Welsh customers and those from South West England will be able to book tickets with the airline鈥檚 travel insurance package, which includes Covid-19 cover and WIZZ Flex. With WIZZ Flex, passengers can cancel their flight up to three hours before departure without any fee and receive 100% of the fare immediately reimbursed in airline credit.

Wizz Air customers can also use the airline鈥檚 interactive travel planning map, to check operating routes and relevant travel rules in their destination country.
The colour-coded map is updated daily and takes users to a country-specific travel information page which includes relevant links to local government websites, useful travel pages and any pre-departure mandatory forms that need to be filled out.
