The major political parties have published their manifestos for the December General Election, setting out their visions for the country.
Brexit, the NHS and other public services have dominated the campaign so far, with little mention of the business community and the economy by the party leaders.
But the different manifestos contain a number of major pledges that will affect businesses up and down the country.

Conservatives:
* ‘getting Brexit done’.
* introduce an Australian-style points-based immigration system.
* regenerating towns with national Towns Fund.
Most Read
* rail improvements and other infrastructure investment.
* review of business rates, increasing the Employment Allowance for Small Business and £3bn National Skills Fund.
* aiming to boost trade with stronger links with Commonwealth countries and the opening of 10 freeports around the 海角视频.
Key quote: “We want Britain to be the best country in the world to start and grow a business – a place where entrepreneurs know they can build on their ideas and find success.”
Green:
* People’s Vote on Brexit.
* £100bn a year investment in Green New Deal.
Don’t miss
* Better rail provision in North, South West and Midlands; a ban on all new runways at airports.
* Creating network of regional banks to provide funding for start-ups.
* Stringent environmental demands on manufacturers.
* Forcing companies to act on the gender pay-gap and increase representation of women on boards.
Key quote: “Green New Deal investment will rebalance industry, away from the carbon past and towards the renewable future. New technologies, along with huge expansions in renewable energy, will create millions of new, good quality, well-paid, secure jobs in every corner of the country.”
Labour:
* support for a ‘green industrial revolution’, including a Sustainable Investment Board and a £400bn National Transformation Fund. Aiming to reduce carbon emissions with more wind farms, solar panels and nuclear energy.
* nationalising energy and water companies.
* support for low carbon sectors and the automotive and steel industries, plus reform of the Apprenticeship Levy.
* support for rail improvements in the North and other transport improvements.
* introducing a ‘Real living wage” of £10 an hour for all workers aged over 16, plus the “biggest extension of workers’ rights in history”.
* negotiating a new Brexit deal and putting it to a referendum.
Key quote: “The cost of not acting is far greater than the cost of acting. We will launch a National Transformation Fund of £400 billion and rewrite the Treasury’s investment rules to guarantee that every penny spent is compatible with our climate and environmental targets.”
Liberal Democrats:
* stopping Brexit.
* All adults to get £10,000 to spend on education and training throughout their working lives, plus development of national skills strategy.
* Investing £130m in infrastructure, including transport and energy systems.
* Increasing spending on R&D to 3% of GDP.
* New ‘start-up allowance’ to help people starting their own business.
* Requiring Government agencies and contracts to sign up to the prompt payment code.
* Creation of Future High Streets Fund to transform town centres.
Key quote: “We are the only party with a new plan for a brighter economic future. A plan to invest in climate-friendly infrastructure and technology and create new green businesses and jobs; a plan to build on our scientific, technological and creative strengths; a plan to stop Brexit and build a more prosperous, equal and inclusive economy.”
Plaid Cymru:
* giving people a ‘final say’ referendum on EU membership.
* £5bn EU transformation fund for Wales.
* support for a Green New Deal.
* specific migration system for Wales.
* improvements to transport infrastructure.
* promoting Wales as a top tourism destination.
Key quote: “Wales has benefitted significantly from our membership of the EU, particuarly from the £680m a year we currently receive. This funding has not only been hugely important to Wales in terms of driving economic growth and jobs, it has also enabled the Welsh Government to leverage additional resources from both public and private sources.”
SNP:
* Calls for control of its own migration and employment law in Scotland.
* Opposed to Brexit and would want an independent Scotland to be part of the EU.
* Reform of Companies House to uncover the beneficial ownership of Scottish Limited Partnerships, other companies and trusts.
* Championing the Real Living Wage, opposing exploitative zero hours contracts and ensuring that companies that want grants from government sign up to fair work principles.
* Calls for statutory living wage to rise to real living wage levels, an end to age discrimination and fines for businesses that fail to meet an agreed Equal Pay Standard.
* Calls to increase worker representation on boards.
Key quote: "It is a commitment to fairness – including mandatory elements such as paying the living wage, closing the gender pay gap and not using exploitative zero-hours contracts. By bringing these together companies across Scotland have shown they can improve productivity and competitiveness and build sustainable growth that also achieves fairness, equality, opportunity and innovation."
