Transport chiefs in the West Midlands are on the hunt for a contractor for a £26 million brief to build two railway stations in the region.
A new tender has been launched by the West Midlands Combined Authority to find a company to construct the stations in Willenhall and Darlaston whose predecessors closed in the 1960s.
Planning permission has not yet been granted for the projects on the Walsall to Wolverhampton line which are due to be debated by Walsall Council's planning committee in October.

The scope of the projects includes two four-car platforms at both of the stations, lift access, footbridges, drop-off facilities and signalling works and parking for 300 at Darlaston and 150 at Willenhall.

Work is due to start in February and be completed in summer 2022.
Willenhall station will be sited next to the Bilston Street railway bridge, close to the town centre, while Darlaston station will be built on derelict land next to the Kendricks Road bridge.
Earlier this year, it was announced that two trains an hour would be calling at the new stations when the Walsall to Wolverhampton line reopened to passenger services.

The original stations in Darlaston and Willenhall closed in 1965 and only through trains have used the line since then.
There will be an hourly service between Walsall and Wolverhampton and another hourly service between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton, via Tame Bridge, Darlaston and Willenhall.
