Nine members of staff from building society The West Brom are limbering up to take part in the 2015 Morrisons next month.

The group, all based at the society's HQ in West Bromwich, will be running the in aid of its nominated charity Edward's Trust which supports children and families facing loss and surviving bereavement.

Nick Trueman, team co-ordinator and the West Brom's PR manager, said: "The team is really excited about the Great Birmingham Run.

"Some of us have run half marathons before while others are attempting the distance for the first time.

"The atmosphere will be fantastic around the streets of Birmingham but the most important aspect of the day for us is to gather as much support as we can for Edward's Trust.

"The bereavement process is always a hugely testing time and Edward's Trust provides a vital support network to help people cope during this period."

The other members of the team are Lucy Bridge, Elaine Clarke, Andy Cove, Ruth Holyoake, Mike Keig, Faye McKellop, Chris Yates and Chris Yeomans.

The West Brom is hoping to raise around £20,000 for Edward's Trust this year through initiatives including a charity golf day, cake and coffee mornings in branches, bake-offs, fun runs and a sponsored cycle ride.
