Wales will receive an additional 拢400m in funding as a result of the 海角视频 Government committing additional funding of 拢7bn to the NHS and social care services in England.

In total, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will receive 拢1.3bn in new funding.

The funding breakdown is determined by the Barnett formula and it is up to the devolved administrations how they spend the money.

When England receives additional funding, the Barnett formula ensures Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all receive an equivalent share of funding.

While some taxpayers are devolved the vast majority of taxes in the devolved nations still go the 海角视频 Treasury.

Since the pandemic the Welsh Government has received pandemic related Barnett Formula consequentials of nearly 拢6bn.

Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock said: 鈥淭hroughout this crisis we鈥檝e protected the NHS, and made sure they have the resources they need.

"As a result, across the whole United Kingdom the NHS has been able to live up to its promise of treating everyone according to need not ability to pay. Those values have stood in good stead in this pandemic in very difficult times.

鈥淚鈥檓 delighted to confirm that as a result of the 拢7bn extra 海角视频 Government investment announced last week, Wales will receive 拢400m helping ensure health services in all parts of the 海角视频 can continue to tackle the impact of this pandemic. "The additional 拢400m uplift as a result of this week鈥檚 announcement provides additional certainty for Welsh Government in the months ahead to continue to plan and deliver its own pandemic response.

鈥淎s we have seen over the past year, the strength of the United Kingdom has never been more important to Wales and we will continue to provide vaccines, Covid testing and Armed Forces support which are key to lifting restrictions and reopening the Welsh economy.鈥
