A fast-growing utilities consultancy has opened a new office in Birmingham and created ten new jobs.

Utility Team, which is headquartered in Coventry, works with businesses around the º£½ÇÊÓƵ to manage their utility contracts and reduce their consumption.

It has now launched a new sales office in The Big Peg, in the city's historic Jewellery Quarter.

Ten staff have been recruited for the office and the company said it planned to double this headcount over the next 12 months.

A further 20 staff are employed at the firm's headquarters.

Managing director Matt Jakeman said: "Utility Team works with thousands of businesses across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ who want to get the best value from their energy contracts, reduce their consumption and minimise their carbon footprint.

"This new office will service one of the fastest growing areas of our business which is working with small- and medium-sized companies.

"Our products allow these companies to join together in buying consortiums to access the wholesale market and make significant savings.
