A director at Manchester regeneration company Urban Splash has joined the board of social media marketing firm It’s Gone Viral.

Sam Lenehan, associate director of House by Urban Splash - a partnership between Urban Splash, the government and Japan-based housebuilder Sekisui House - has been appointed as the firm’s non-executive director.

Manchester-headquartered It’s Gone Viral was founded in 2016 by Matthew Thomas, Andrew Trotman and Ryan Williams and its clients include the likes of BBC Films, O2, Universal, Bud Light and Disney.

The appointment comes after the marketing firm announced it had signed a three-year deal to take 1,000 sq ft office space at Urban Splash’s Beehive Mill space in Ancoats last month.

Mr Lenehan said he and the board had “begun implementing a new strategy” for the firm over the past six months.

He said: “Social media has become a fundamental part of how consumers interact with the brands they love.

“Having built some of the biggest social media brands in the country over the past three years, the guys at Its Gone Viral have an almost unparalleled expertise.
