Manchester and Bristol are the most inclusive cities for black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) workers outside of London, new research by a º£½ÇÊÓƵ jobsite has revealed.
Figures from Adzuna, which provides data on all available jobs in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, said adverts promoting inclusivity and diversity now only account for only seven per cent of all job ads - a huge drop of 51 per cent.
However, the fall is largely down to a decline in º£½ÇÊÓƵ jobs as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Adzuna said.
London leads the way when it comes to the number of inclusive employers for diversity.
Just under a quarter of all BAME inclusive roles are based in the capital (23.3 per cent), with 20,379 vacancies listed in 2020.
Manchester came in second place with 1,709 inclusive roles and Bristol third with 1,129.
Meanwhile, Bath tops the list of cities with the fewest number of job roles promoting inclusivity, with just 168, followed by Dundee (164) and Coventry (158).
The best sector for inclusivity is the IT industry, with more than 9,971 jobs supporting diversity this year.
Healthcare and nursing was the second-most inclusive, with 7,553 open roles, followed by accounting and finance, with 5,148.
Companies including Citi, PwC and Deloitte are among businesses to show their support in the hiring process, Adzuna found.
Andrew Hunter, co-founder of Adzuna, said: “It’s really disappointing to see a drop in vacancies promoting inclusivity and diversity in the workplace.
“While this is largely down to the job losses we have seen as a result of coronavirus, it highlights a much bigger problem within the workplace.â€
He added: “A diverse workforce is a great opportunity for employers to find staff with a different set of experiences and perspectives, so we hope to see more support for different minority groups as the job market starts to recover.â€
