Donald Trump is a 鈥渇ar more appealing鈥 candidate than Hillary Clinton, according to a MEP.
West Midlands MEP Bill Etheridge said: 鈥漌hile Trump comes across as a flawed human being, Clinton is more of a robot.鈥
He also described Mrs Clinton as "the type of person that I completely detest."
He criticised Mr Trump's "sexist" comments but added: "I鈥檓 sure many of us say things that we wouldn鈥檛 want to see splattered all over the news."
Mr Etheridge, one of the candidates in 海角视频IP鈥檚 leadership contest, made the comments about the US Presidential election in a column for the Express and Star newspaper.
He criticised Mr Trump鈥檚 comments, caught on tape in 2005 and published this month, in which the candidate boasted of grabbing women.
The MEP said: 鈥淗is sexist comments that were caught on tape are more serious.
鈥淭hey were unpleasant and ungentlemanly at best, although I鈥檓 sure many of us say things that we wouldn鈥檛 want to see splattered all over the news.鈥
He said Donald Trump鈥檚 proposal to build a wall between the USA and Mexico was 鈥渏ust ridiculous鈥.
Mr Etheridge said: 鈥淗e clearly thinks the only way he can win is by being controversial, but he鈥檚 pushed it too far.鈥
But he continued: 鈥淔or all Trump鈥檚 faults I consider him to be a far more appealing candidate than Clinton.
鈥淚 instinctively rail against anything she stands for. She is the epitome of an establishment figure and the type of person that I completely detest.
鈥淗er family has been involved at the top of American society for decades and the country has suffered as a result.
鈥淢any of her views, particularly on foreign policy and state control, reflect everything I stand against.
鈥淲hile Trump comes across as a flawed human being, Clinton is more of a robot. She lacks warmth and I consider her efforts to identify with 鈥榦rdinary鈥 Americans to be embarrassingly contrived.鈥
The US election takes place on November 8.
