Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup qualifying event goes with a swing

Naeem Arif won the individual competition. Paul Shelley was runner-up, John Ennis was third and Peter Marsh and Jilly Cosgrove won the nearest-the-pin prizes for men and ladies respectively.

Mr Selim Ozturk, Turkish Airlines general manager Birmingham, presented the winning trophy to Naeem.

Mr Ozturk congratulated everyone who took part and said: “We are incredibly proud to be hosting the 2016 Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup qualifier, here at the Belfry, one of the greatest golf courses in the country.

“Turkish Airlines believes in the power of sport to bring people together, inspire fans around the world and encourage people to travel. As a result, Turkish Airlines will always look to sport as a source of inspiration.

“This is evident in the airline’s sponsorship of international sporting events including Euro 2016, European Professional Club Rugby and, of course, the Turkish Airlines Open golf tournament.”
