The top 150 businesses in the West will be revealed on Friday in the Western Daily Press Business Guide 2020 .

The special publication - which is free inside the Western Daily Press newspaper on January 24 - has been a staple of the West’s business calendar for nearly 30 years.

The 52-page magazine has a host of features assessing the key sectors of the region’s economy.

Sponsored by EDF Energy, GWR and Osborne Clarke, the guide is full of commentary from leading business experts.

It visits several high streets in Somerset that are defying the retail downturn and see what lessons can be applied elsewhere.

Special reports look at the issues affecting the West’s hospitality sector and how the smartest operators are thriving despite challenging conditions.

The state of health of the rural economy and agriculture sectors are assessed, as is manufacturing.

We argue that Bloodhound - which is being developed in Gloucestershire - is a beacon for the region’s advanced manufacturing and engineering capability.
