Rochdale Riverside scheme

Rochdale’s £80m development has seen a string of new brands sign up to take space at the scheme - 86 percent of it has now been let.

Retailers DCM and The Works move into the new Rochdale Riverside scheme, a joint venture by Genr8 Developments and Kajima in partnership with Rochdale Borough Council, comprising some 200,000 sq ft of retail and leisure accommodation.

They have been joined by independent restaurant Loaded Burgers, which operates seven sites across Liverpool and London, who will occupy a 3,400 sq ft unit in the scheme

The line-up of brands which have already committed to the scheme includes six-screen Reel cinema; Puttstars, an interactive mini-golf centre from Hollywood Bowl; and luxury dessert eatery Heavenly Desserts.

Lauren Gavaghan, development manager at Genr8, said: “These deals highlight the continued development of the retail and leisure offer at Rochdale Riverside.

“Loaded Burgers brings something different to the mix and is an exciting new concept for the region; whilst DCM offers a great selection of premium menswear brands.

“We’re pleased to see that The Works has traded well since opening alongside the existing retailers in the scheme and we look forward to announcing further lettings.”

She continued: “Our vision for the scheme has been – and continues to be – providing Rochdale with an exciting retail and leisure offering which will help to accelerate the town’s next stages of growth as we look ahead to the next development phases.”
