Guests turned out in force to celebrate the work of a pioneering social enterprise offering an ethical alternative to high-cost pay-day lenders.
Street 海角视频, a Community Interest Company that operates on a not-for-profit basis, has now launched an online lending platform that will save customers hundreds of pounds. It already offers low cost loans to people unable to access credit, approving more than 31,000 loans, totalling more than 拢15million, over the last 16 years. But the launch of its new online facility marks a new era. An official launch ceremony was held at the Church of St Martin in , Birmingham.
Martin Hockly, CEO of Street 海角视频, said: 鈥淚t is important for Street 海角视频 to make an even greater impact and so we have decided to bring our expertise to the online market.鈥
Guests included the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Coun Ray Hassall, partners and funders of Street 海角视频, as well as a variety of its customers.
