Six North Wales brands started in the last decade that now employ hundreds of workers

These new businesses have brought jobs and investment and helped the region to prosper

New Zip World attraction

The last decade has seen some remarkable success stories across North Wales.

These new businesses have brought jobs and investment and helped the region to prosper as the º£½ÇÊÓƵ emerged from the credit crunch and subsequent recession.

Here are six high flying businesses that incredibly did not exist back in 2010 but now employ more than 1,000 workers between them.

Zip World

It is incredible to think Zip World only launched its first attraction in 2013 with the fastest zip line in the world at Penrhyn Quarry in Bethesda.

Since then its progress has been as rapid as its zip lines and it now employs more than 400 workers across three sites in North Wales. They have helped to regenerate the quarry towns of Blaenau Ffestiniog and Bethesda.

There is no sign that the company is slowing down with founder Sean Taylor leading the way as it plans expansion in South Wales and recently unveiled a new proposed zip wire for the centre of Liverpool.

The company continues to push the boundaries and has been at the heart of turning North Wales into the European Capital of Adventure.

Restaurant chain Dylan’s is now a name known across North Wales - which shows how far it has come in just eight years.
