Shopping centre jobs hub opens at former Iceland store in North Wales

The temporary Jobcentre in Bayview Shopping Centre, Colwyn Bay, will help people looking to find work

Bay View Shopping Centre in Colwyn Bay

A Jobcentre has opened at a former Iceland store in North Wales.

The new Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) site is based at the Bayview Shopping Centre in Colwyn Bay.

It has 16 Work Coaches who will help local people looking for work in Colwyn Bay and other nearby areas with one-on-one tailored support to find their next role.

Clwyd West MS Darren Millar said: "The Jobcentre is based in the heart of the town centre and is there to support all local Universal Credit claimants.

“The last two years have been a challenging time for people, so I very much welcome this additional support in the area to help people back into work."

Mims Davies MP, º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Government's Minister for Employment, said: “We know this has been a challenging time for many people and that’s why we’re boosting our DWP Jobcentre support in every community of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, including here in Colwyn Bay.

“Every customer benefits from having a dedicated Work Coach. They know the local jobs market and work with local businesses to match jobseekers to the latest opportunities.
