Associated British Ports
Paul Bristowe has joined the leading ports group as head of marine in the Humber.
He takes over from Gary Wilson, who is retiring after 50 years in a maritime career, with the last four with ABP in the role he now departs.

Paul arrives in the Humber from BP Plc, where he recently ran the trading operations team, looking after oil and gas logistics for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He previously spent four years as BP Shipping’s global head of voyage operations with responsibility for orders, monitoring and optimisation of 50 owned and 200 chartered vessels transporting oil, gas, products, and chemicals.
Paul said: “I’ve been impressed by the scale of operations on the Humber which play such an important role in keeping Britain trading. I’ve also been heartened by the high standards of professionalism of the people I’ve met and the all-important safety culture of the organisation. I’m looking forward to spending time with all the various teams, understanding their roles and helping identify improvement opportunities.”
Prior to joining the oil major he served for 25 years in the Royal Navy where he flew Sea King helicopters before moving into a succession of warfare roles at sea.
His military career culminated in command of HMS Somerset, where he led a seven-month maritime security deployment, undertaking counter-piracy and escort operations in the Indian Ocean, Somali Basin and Strait of Hormuz. Highlights included the Royal Marine boarding team releasing the crew of a hijacked Pakistani fishing vessel, and a combined operation where Somerset’s crew arrested a gang of Somali pirates who had overthrown an Italian merchant vessel in the Gulf of Aden.

The marine team Paul will head comprises 300 people, and includes the Humber pilots.
Gary had joined ABP in 2018 having served as harbour master of various 海角视频 ports, including Felixstowe, and in Australia.
Starting his career with the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, he spent 25 years travelling the world supporting the Royal Navy, visiting the Far East, South Africa, and the west coast of Canada. He was on board Sir Tristram during the Falklands War in 1982 when it was attacked.
Gary said: “It’s been a privilege to have worked for Simon and the Humber leadership team, and to have led the marine team.
“I have some very nice memories and it’s been an honour to have worked with them and the great responsibility they have. I’m handing over to Paul a very focused, successful team who are ready to navigate the waters ahead of them.”
Beal Homes
The Hessle-headquartered housebuilder has appointed Andy Devine as its new construction director.
As part of the East Yorkshire company’s continued drive to grow volumes and set the bar for build quality, he joins from Barratt & David Wilson Homes, where he was contracts manager for the region.
He succeeds long-serving John Goodfellow, who has retired. During an 18-year tenure in the role, Mr Goodfellow is credited with playing a key part of the firm becoming a leading independent housebuilder.
Mr Devine brings 26 years of experience in the construction industry to Beal, and has twice been a winner of NHBC Pride in the Job awards.

Quickline
The East Yorkshire-based rural broadband provider has welcomed a leading commercial specialist to further strengthen its executive team.
Sue Barnes has joined the Hessle-based company as its new chief commercial officer, moving from Voneus Broadband.
With over 30 years’ experience in senior commercial leadership roles, she is described as having a proven track record of building world-class teams and driving growth in fast-paced environments across telecoms, digital, print and broadcast media within both start-ups and large organisations.
Sean Royce, Quickline’s chief executive, said Sue’s arrival demonstrates the rapid expansion and ambition of the company following its acquisition by Northleaf Capital Partners last June and a £500 million investment outlined by the new owners over the next four years. “This is a key appointment for us and we are delighted to welcome another high calibre specialist to our executive team,” he said. “Having worked for another national broadband company for the last three years, Sue is well acquainted with what customers need and expect from their broadband provider. She will now continue the great progress we are already making in building our ultrafast hybrid network.”
She will be leading all commercial teams for Quickline, including product and proposition, marketing, sales, customer experience, performance and engagement.
Sue said: “I am thrilled to have joined Quickline at the start of a major growth phase. I’m looking forward to addressing the whole provision of lightning fast broadband in rural communities across the North of England and beyond to ensure that no-one is left behind when it comes to fast, reliable internet connectivity simply because of where they live and work.”
It follows the arrival of Claire Hickey, who joined the leadership team from Howden Joinery as human resources director. She is leading on the company’s rapid recruitment drive as Quickline prepares to double its workforce again by the end of the year.
Premier Modular
Lee Young has joined the East Yorkshire-based offsite construction specialist as corporate strategy director to aid ambitious growth plans.
He brings 12 years’ experience in the manufacturing and engineering sectors for businesses delivering large public sector and infrastructure projects, having held senior financial positions, including time as FD at Lockhead Martin.
Of the move to the Brandesburton firm, Lee said: “This is a really exciting time to join Premier which has seen a tremendous increase in demand for its offsite construction solutions and rental space in the last three years.
“I will be working with the leadership team and with external investors and stakeholders to help develop and underpin our strategic growth plans and set longer-term goals. I am really looking forward to contributing to an exciting future for the business.”

Hudgell Solicitors
Two new appointments have been made to the executive team at the Hull-headquartered law firm as it eyes further growth.
Michelle Maltby returns in the role of chief operating officer and Jonathon Wells joins as chief financial officer.
They will support owner and executive chairman Neil Hudgell, and chief executive officer Rachel Di Clemente, as part of a four-strong executive team to lead strategic development.
Mrs Maltby has vast experience of the Hudgells business and played a huge part in the firm’s development throughout its first two decades in the role of head of operations, before leaving in 2017.
Mr Wells is a highly-respected finance director who has held senior positions in the legal, food, IT and media sectors, as well as being treasurer and trustee of a number of charity organisations.
Welcoming the “two highly-experienced senior professionals,” Mrs Di Clemente said: “We believe that we have a great opportunity to build on the success we have enjoyed over the past 24 months to further grow the business. However, we recognised that we needed to strengthen the leadership team to ensure that our ambitions could be achieved.

CWE Ltd
Dave Bates has been made commercial director of the independent supply, maintenance and logistics partner for the rail industry.
Having joined the Crowle-headquartered business in 2004 as a coupler fitter, he fulfilled numerous roles before becoming commercial manager in 2020.
The promotion follows a period of growth for CWE, which has recently announced major new contracts with some of the biggest names in the rail sector.
Dave said: “The past 18 years have been a very enjoyable journey and I really appreciate the opportunities I’ve been given to progress my career at CWE. The past year in particular has been really exciting, and my main focus is on helping grow CWE into a £10 million plus business. I pride myself on building strong customer relationships, so I will also be continuously looking at ways to improve our scope of core works so we can offer our customers an even better service.”
Earlier this year, CWE established its Centre of Excellence for Rail at its North Lincolnshire facility, which followed investments in new equipment and a major rebrand for the company.

Bluestorm
The Hull-based design and marketing agency has appointed Dan Murphy to its board as director of digital.
It is a move described as recognising his achievement in the role of head of digital since July 2020, and the central importance of web development and digital marketing to Bluestorm’s future success.
Andy Cawley, agency director, said: “The pandemic has only served to accelerate the digitalisation of integrated marketing and communications. Our website development and digital marketing teams have expanded as a result, and it makes good sense that this crucial part of our business is properly represented in our senior leadership team of directors.

Hull born and bred, Dan attended Sydney Smith School and Wyke College before graduating with a marketing degree from University of Hull. He joined Bluestorm in 2013 as a trainee digital marketing consultant and, apart from a short break to try out an inhouse role, has been with the business ever since.
He said: “I love the variety and challenge of agency work, and I’m looking forward to taking on new responsibilities as I work with colleagues to take our business to the next stage of its development. I’m very grateful too to my fellow directors for giving me that first chance to work in the sector, and for the opportunities, encouragement and support they have provided ever since.”
Rollits
Five new partner promotions have been made by the regional law firm.
Sarah Adams, Alison Benson and Libby Clarkson are based in the Hull office, and make the step up from associate, and are joined by Suzgo Kaluluma and Lynne Webster, who are both based in York. They both joined the firm in 2019 having previously worked with other prominent law firms across Yorkshire.
Sarah specialises in private capital matters including wills and probate, powers of attorney and trusts. She joined Rollits in 2011 after studying at the University of Hull and York College of Law and she qualified as a solicitor in 2013.
Sarah is also a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) having achieved a distinction in the STEP Diploma for Trusts and Estates.
A graduate of the University of Edinburgh, Alison heads up the family team at Rollits having
specialised in the field for 20 years. She deals with all issues arising from divorce and separation with a focus on complex financial cases including business and farming assets. She also advises on private children disputes and prenuptial agreements..
Alison is an accredited mediator whose practice includes direct consultation with children and publicly funded mediation work.
Libby graduated from the University of Hull in 2011 and joined Rollits as a trainee the following year, moving into the firm’s planning and development team when she qualified in 2014. Her work includes advising on planning law, planning agreements and infrastructure agreements, buying and selling land for development and highway, access and title issues.
Suzgo graduated from the University of Durham in 2006, qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and was appointed a Solicitor Advocate (High Courts Civil Proceedings) in 2011. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners (STEP).
Lynne has more than 20 years’ experience as a commercial property solicitor. A graduate of Manchester University, she qualified as a solicitor in 1997.
Also in the business, Donna Ashbridge and Emma Fawke step up from senior solicitor to associate. Their colleagues John Ashworth, Leanne Hatch and Harriet Wheeldon have all been promoted from solicitor to senior solicitor.

Three new partners have been welcomed to the Hull law firm.
Stephen Dettman has joined the practice, and will head up the residential property team, while two internal promotions have also been made.
Jennifer Bradford, who leads the client service and compliance team, and Samuel Peake, a well-established property law specialist who handles a broad range of commercial property and finance transactions, both make partner too.
Mr Dettman is described as bringing extensive specialist property law experience and is described as a valuable addition to the well-established team.
Having qualified as a solicitor in 2005, he went on to specialise in technical property transactions and has developed expertise across all aspects of residential transactions, from sales, purchases and re-mortgages, to lease extensions, shared ownership and solar panel leases.

Three strategic appointments follow a year of significant growth for the firm's Beverley office.
Two partners and a solicitor have been recruited, to build on record-breaking turnover for its services provided to businesses and individuals.
Corporate and commercial law expert Alistair Latham joins as a partner along with Katie Wright who specialises in agricultural law. Probate specialist Lindsey Rhodes joins as a solicitor. It takes the Beverley team to 46.

With more than 25 years’ experience, he is described as excelling in his understanding of the issues of importance to business clients and says that the sector specialisms of Wilkin Chapman will help him to deliver an outstanding service.

Former HSBC executive Richard Crabb has joined the digitally-focused litigation and commercial law firm as chief operating officer.
He will be in charge of the Hull firm’s strategic and operational delivery of the legal teams, together with corporate governance and change management functions, with a focus on delivering an integrated service model.

Before joining HSBC, he was a partner at McCormick’s Solicitors in Harrogate, where he was ranked by Legal 500 as a leading legal advisor in both charities and sports law.

The pan-Humber law firm has welcomed Craig Day to a newly established role of head of people and culture.
He will support directors and heads of service in championing the values of the firm, supporting colleagues through their development and implementing new welfare and culture opportunities for their teams.
Craig joins Pepperells following a successful career as a policeman, culminating in leadership and change management roles. He has managed high performing teams for over a decade, often in extremely emotional situations. He is described as having excellent communication skills, demonstrating practical leadership methods, with the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.

Two promotions have been made at the Willerby waste specialist.
Michael Wheatley is the new operations director, following Bob Wilkes’ recent promotion to managing director.
He originally joined the company in 2020, as senior operations and compliance manager, bringing a strong track record in similar roles with large 海角视频 companies. .
In his new role, he will be responsible for the safe, efficient and profitable running of the sites across the Wastewise group, focusing on closer coordination in the sharing of capacity, facilities, staff and product distribution to maximise output.
He said: “I am delighted to take on this new role, with plans to consolidate the already high standards set in safety, environmental, and quality output that I’ve worked on since 2020.
“I have an ongoing programme of plant and capital investment that I am committed to and will support the board in its ambitious five-year development strategy.”
Stacey Allen takes on a new role of compliance supervisor. She joined Wastewise five years ago in an accounting role which has since developed to include other aspects. She will now provide a dedicated resource covering areas of health and safety, the environment and quality compliance. She will be responsible for promoting and driving a positive culture, ensuring all policies, procedures and training are up to date and providing guidance where necessary.

Experienced lettings property specialist Helen Everritt is to lead Garness Group’s rebranded residential management business into a new era
Mrs Everritt, who has more than 12 years’ experience in the residential lettings property
management sector, previously worked at Lovelle Estate Agency in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
She said: “I’m thrilled to have been given the opportunity to have a greater influence on the future development of Gro Residential Management, and to be taking on this role at such a pivotal moment given the recent investment into the business and the extra resources which have been put in place to ensure we can continue to enhance our services.

Sarah Gill has been appointed as financial director of the Hull-based residential developer.
Bringing more than 20 years’ experience managing finance and operations within construction firms, it is a promotion from group accountant, after almost four years at the company.
Mrs Gill joined in 2018 to oversee the financial aspects of five property companies, owned by managing director, Jason Coleman.
He said: “I feel incredibly fortunate to have her on my team. With acute attention to detail, Sarah has helped us to make important investment decisions that benefit the whole group.
“In addition to providing financial expertise, she manages our team internally and has influenced the aesthetics of the apartments, driving the look and feel for our residents.”

The Hull performance marketing agency has announced two new hires to support its ongoing growth.
Georgia Garnett has joined the business as client services director, with Samantha Moor as performance marketing manager.

Katie Woodward, former QSHE manager at the Scunthorpe sheet feeding specialist, has been promoted to head of operations, strengthening the company’s senior leadership team.
Having joined the business three years ago, she will now take responsibility for ensuring customers get the best quality and service from both the product and the people.
Managing director Rob Burgin said: “We would like to congratulate Katie on her promotion. It was very much deserved. Her attitude and competence are to be commended, and we look forward to seeing how we can all shape the business together as a senior leadership team.”
It is a move that will see Katie manage the health and safety, quality, production, engineering and logistics teams at the business.

Nick Montgomery has also joined the team as technical sales manager.
With experience in the sector, having previously worked for Linpac, DS Smith and VPK, he is looking forward to a new challenge. As part of his role, he will be responsible for building relationships with clients and supporting the ambitions of the business to become a leading independent supplier in the market.
He said: “There has been a lot of change at CorrBoard over recent months and these are exciting times for the business. Joining the organisation now means I can be a part of that and really set the foundations for the future.

360 Chartered Accountants
A new senior corporate portfolio manager has been welcomed as a promotion completes in the tax department of the Hull-headquartered firm.
Mushiirah Mohungoo, who has 10 years’ experience in all aspects of accounting and finance, both in the 海角视频 and overseas, joins 360 from a leading London accountancy firm.
Adrian Hunter, managing director, said that attracting an accountant from the capital is testament to the way the firm looks after both its clients and its team.
“We are thrilled to have attracted Mushiirah from London and we know that she is going to be a great asset. Her experience as an accountant, dealing with personal as well as corporate finance, will be invaluable to our clients and will be a great resource for her to share with the team here.”
As well as proactively managing a portfolio of corporate clients, Mushiirah will lead her own team of accountants and apprentices, developing their skill set and actively mentoring them as part of their professional development.

Dan Collings has become the new personal tax manager. He joined the department two and a half years ago, and the promotion is “testament to his hard work and dedication”.

The team, which also had an office in York, offers a wide range of tax services, including self-assessment, VAT, compliance, tax planning, asset protection and the use of trusts as well as being able to help clients with HMRC investigations.

Forrester Boyd
Promotions have been bestowed on six of Forrester Boyd’s team, all of whom have emerged from the Grimsby-headquartered firm’s trainee accountancy programme.
Alex Sawden, Vicky Lamb and Mike Hall, all work in the South St Mary’s Gate office, and have been made managers.
Alex joined Forrester Boyd in 2014 having obtained a first class degree in accounting and finance, and specialises in providing audit services for large clients including groups, both locally and nationally. Working across a variety of sectors, Alex has a particular specialism in the food sector and a keen interest in renewables.
Vicky joined in 2011, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2014. She deals with company accounts and tax for SMEs, sole traders and partnerships along with individual tax returns.
Mike, who joined in 2012 - qualifying with the ACCA in 2018 - specialises in audit and internal audits, predominantly in the education and charity sectors.
Phoebe Cranmer has also been made an assistant manager in Grimsby, having joined the firm as a trainee in 2015, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2020.
Moving to the firm’s Louth office, Katie Reeson has also been appointed as assistant manager, having also joined in 2015 and qualified in 2019.
She is joined by Emma Millson who had arrived the year before, qualifying as a chartered certified accountant in 2020.

Atlas Leisure Homes
The Hull holiday homes and lodges manufacturer has welcomed two new senior appointments in Rob Harrison and Charlotte Mews.
Rob joins as supply chain manager following last year’s retirement of long-standing employee David Upfield.
He is described as bringing a wealth of knowledge in purchasing and supply chain to the
business. His initial focus will be supporting the implementation of the new ERP system, which will increase efficiency and stabilise the flow of materials into the business.

The luxury holiday homes manufacturer has made two new appointments to strengthen the senior team and confirm its commitment to meeting customers’ needs.
Mark Cooper has joined Victory as head of customer experience, in a role that will see him working with colleagues across the firm to ensure every aspect of its operations contribute to market-leading customer satisfaction.

A new regional account manager has been appointed to cover the North West for the Howden-based racking supplier.
Kevin Shindler, from the Wirral, brings 14 years of experience as a format and propositional change project manager for one of the 海角视频’s largest DIY multiples to the role, including launching new stores and leading on store refurbishments.
He said: “Having spent many years in the installations and storage industry, I have a good understanding of what clients want and what we can provide to make their businesses run more effectively and efficiently.

Kevin also has extensive experience of managing a large team of racking installers and managing range changes for a number of large businesses including major supermarket chains.
