Santander is to close its offices in Merseyside, Newcastle, London and Manchester, with plans to set up a new HQ in Milton Keynes.
The banking giant, which has also just revealed plans to close 111 branches, said the move will mean it consolidates its office sites into six main locations.
The bank's 海角视频 headquarters will now be in Milton Keyes, where it is investing £150m in a new "state-of-the-art" campus - alongside bases in Belfast, Bradford, Glasgow, London and Sheffield.

The Bootle, Newcastle, London Portman House and Manchester Deansgate sites will all close by the end of the year.
The firm said it will also reduce the volume of office space at its London Triton Square, London Ludgate Hill, Leicester Carlton Park and Teesside sites.

Santander said around 5,000 staff based at closing or consolidating sites will be offered new dual location working arrangements, combining working from home with access to local spaces designed to enable team collaboration.

According to the bank, the plans reflect "regular feedback" from staff - "with the desire for more flexible working arrangements remaining a consistent view over the course of the last year".
The news comes despite the for a new Bootle HQ, which ran into difficulties and in September was suspended as the bank considered "future ways of working".
Around 2,100 people at the Bootle site will be impact and offered dual location working arrangements, the bank said.
It added that "collaboration space" close to the site will be rented by the bank, and that it will "work closely" with Sefton Council and the local community to "discuss potential opportunities for the site".

The Communication Workers Union has responded to Santander's announcement today, calling the scale "unprecedented".
It says: "We understand that many of our members may be overwhelmed at the complexity and detail of the changes ahead, we understand particularly members in Bootle will be disappointed that their site is closing considering the planned investment for a major new development.
"Whilst the CWU shares that disappointment, I hope you will understand that our main aim and priority throughout the negotiations has been to give our members choice and to ensure wherever possible jobs and terms and conditions are protected."
