Santander backs Atwell International with £600,000 funding deal

Worcestershire manufacturing group will use new capital to expand in Asia, Europe and North American markets

Russell Walker, managing director of Atwell International which has secured a new £600,000 funding package from Santander

Manufacturing group Atwell International is hoping to secure significant expansion in international clients after securing a new £600,000 funding package from Santander.

The company, which is based in makes and supplies specialist equipment for lifts such as brakes, safety and hoisting products.

It was founded in 1996 and is now managed by former RAF serviceman Russell Walker.

Its equipment can be found in well-known buildings such as the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace and St James Palace and has been used on the set of Harry Potter and James Bond movies.

In particular, the funding from Santander Corporate & Commercial will help the business to expand operations in Australia, China, France, Singapore and North America.

Mr Walker said: "These are exciting times for the business as we expand our operations across the world, as well as increasing sales in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

"Expansion into China is an interesting prospect for us as it clearly offers enormous potential for a specialist firm like Atwell."
