Salford city council has granted planning consent for the third phase of mixed development scheme Middlewood Locks.
Phase three will see a further 189 new homes built, adding to the 1,117 homes which are being built - or have completed - for the 25-acre scheme.
This includes 176 one to three-bedroom apartments in two 10 and 12-storey buildings and 13 three and four-bedroom, three-storey townhouses.
Some 61 car parking spaces and 40 bicycle spaces will be created.
This phase will also include 5,150 sq ft of ground floor commercial space and an additional 4,970 sq ft of offices within a ‘leisure hub’ home to Seven Brothers Beerhouse and Co-op.
Middlewood Locks is a joint venture between Scarborough International Properties, Xinjiang-based Hualing Group and Singapore-based property group Metro Holdings Limited.
Scarborough expects to start on this new phase in early 2021 with completion expected in late 2022.

When completed, Middlewood Locks is set to provide 2,215 new homes and 900,000 sq ft of commercial space.

Phase two of the scheme was topped out in February of this year and will be completed in 2021.
