鈥淭he 海角视频 Government continues to invest in communities throughout Wales as we work towards our aims of growing the Welsh economy and levelling up the 海角视频.鈥
In the first two rounds of the Levelling Up Fund, Wales saw 21 projects received over 拢329m. The latest round takes funding in Wales to 拢440m and exceeding the minimum 5% (currently 9%) originally ringfenced for Wales.
The Welsh Government says that the replacement for European funding from the 海角视频 Government, which it promised to make up, has left Wales around 拢1bn short of what it would have received if the 海角视频 had remained in the EU .
Across the 海角视频 more than 50 projects are sharing 拢1bn from the third round of the Levelling Up Fund.
Levelling up Secretary Michael Gove said: 鈥淟evelling up means delivering local鈥檚 people鈥檚 priorities and bringing transformational change in communities that have, for too long, been overlooked and undervalued.
鈥淭oday we are backing 55 projects across the 海角视频 with 拢1 billion to create new jobs and opportunities, power economic growth, and revitalise local areas.
鈥淭his funding sits alongside our wider initiatives to spread growth, through devolving more money and power out of Westminster to towns and cities, putting in place bespoke interventions to places that need it most, and our long-term plan for towns.鈥
