Sales are about to tee off for a former PGA and European Tour professional golfer who is bringing forward his first new housing development.

The Approach is a 38-plot debut in Immingham from Lynn Homes, with Dave Lynn behind it, together with business partners Mike Burgess and Khush Nagra.

It is a collection of two and three-bed link and semi-detached homes – with designs all named after favourite º£½ÇÊÓƵ courses – off the port town’s Waterworks Street.

Mr Lynn won the 2004 Dutch Open and the 2013 Portuguese Masters, where other notable champions include 2019 British Open victor Shane Lowry, as well as Lee Westwood and Padraig Harrington.

Like many sports professionals he has invested in property –  building a portfolio of mixed-use investments during a career that was cut short by tendonitis in his right elbow five years ago. He had been introduced to the industry as a young man.

“This is the first housing development,” Mr Lynn said. “I have done redevelopments before but always wanted to get involved in house-building, and this opportunity came up. Khush is the builder and we saw quite a few of his developments before we got involved.

“At 38 homes, it is quite ambitious. It is a bigger site than we may have wanted to start with, but a lot of boxes were ticked with it. We saw Immingham, all the industry around the place, a waste-to-energy plant and a biorefinery in planning, and thought Immingham was a place that needed new housing.

“I think is a bit of an underrated town, I might even go as far as to say a sleeping giant.”
