A Hull construction company has welcomed the Prime Minister to kickstart its latest build project.
Hobson & Porter is behind a new £7 million primary school in Northallerton, North Yorkshire - part of the Richmond constituency of Rishi Sunak. He joined other civic guests for the milestone occasion for what will be Oakbridge Church of England Primary School, part of the Dales Academies Trust.
It aims to be a “flagship of excellence” alongside a major new housing development, and will welcome pupils for the first time in September next year.

Richard Hunter, managing director at Hobson & Porter, said: “Starting work on this new school is an exciting moment for everyone involved with this project.
“There’s no doubt that once it’s complete, this school will become a hugely valuable part of he local community.”
Last summer the company completed almost £3 million of refurbishment works in the education sector during the summer break - including an £850,000 overhaul for Hull College - and has just handed over the new Castle Hill Hospital MRI suite. It is a £46 million turnover operation employing 119 people.
Speaking about his visit, Mr Sunak said: “It was great to see work under way on a very important multi-million-pound investment in education in Northallerton.
“This is a vital element of the North Northallerton development project, part of making sure the new housing has the appropriate infrastructure in place to support the families that will be moving here.”
