The Prime Minister is paying a visit to Birmingham today to celebrate up to 8,000 jobs to be created by .
David Cameron is visiting the airport ahead of 4,000 jobs expected to be directly created by the runway extension and a further 4,000 in the supply chain.
The £40 million revamp, due to be operational next month, brings the Far East and the west coast of the US, and has already reaped rewards with flights to New York, Bangladesh and China.

The Prime Minister is expected to link business measures in last month’s Budget to a host of positive job creation news.
He will insist that business tax reforms that are coming into force will help firms hire more people and claim that the jobs announcements are further proof that the Coalition’s economic plan is working.
He will also be keen to highlight changes to the income tax personal allowance threshold, which is being raised from £9,440 to £10,000, and reforms to the Employment Allowance that the Government says will give 1.25 million businesses and charities up to £2,000 off their National Insurance Contributions.
Ahead of the visit, Mr Cameron said: “A key part of our long-term economic plan is to create jobs and to cut taxes.
“So I am delighted that in the week where we are cutting tax for 26 million hard-working people – and now taking three million out of tax altogether – I can announce nearly 10,000 more jobs which will give people financial security for the future.”
As well as the Birmingham Airport jobs, Mr Cameron will visit communications giant Vodafone, which is taking on an extra 1,400 staff, and global management consulting firm Accenture, which is hiring 500 more staff.
