Positive outlook for Warwickshire CCC as turnover rises and losses fall

Edgbaston club making 'solid progress' as they prepare for big summer of high-profile matches including the third Ashes Test

have reported increased turnover and a more positive financial picture as they prepare for a big summer of cricket in Birmingham.

Announcing their financial results for the year to October 2014, the club said revenue had risen from £11.7 million to £12.5 million and EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) increased from £1.43 million to £1.66 million.

The club remain in the red though but have reported reduced losses, with a 2012/13 pre-tax loss of £2.37 million falling to a loss of £1.21 million this year. The overall loss for the year dropped from £2.4 million to £1.5 million.

The club's operating profit increased, from £5,000 to £230,000, but they were hit by a net depreciation charge of £1.4 million related to the stadium redevelopment which opened in 2011.

Chief executive Colin Povey said today: "The club continued to make solid progress in 2014 both on and off the field.

"Our strategic plan contains some ambitious targets but we are increasingly demonstrating the value of redeveloping the stadium and broadening our business model.
