Plymouth’s £3.5m Eurotech Park business estate has been completed less than a year after work on it began.

Demolition only started in January 2021 at the Honicknowle site, originally built as an electronics factory in the 1970s. But now developer Burrington Estates has completed construction of 30 business units at the newly named Eurotech Park.

This sees the successful completion of the first commercial development project from the innovative developer which is involved in high-quality projects in the West Country and beyond. The construction of the 1,000sq ft units took just eight months to complete. Impressively, 90% of the units were sold off plan.

Matthew Bennett, Burrington Estates’ commercial managing director, said: “We’re proud of this achievement, and it’s gratifying that there was such huge interest in the units even before the build started, reflecting the high-quality of product synonymous with Burrington Estates. There is clearly a need for this type and size of commercial unit built to such a high specification as these.”

Located just to the north of the city, Eurotech Park is less than two miles from the A386 junction with the Devon Expressway, giving easy access to the major road network into Plymouth and north to Exeter and the M5.

Businesses raring to move in include Plymouth’s Rabart Decorators Merchants, which is taking several units; sustainable energy business Carbon Energy Saving; A&A Concrete Repair; and West Country Gas.

Charles Berry, Burrington Estates’ development manager, said: “This development redefines the standard of commercial units with a focus on quality and sustainability. All units benefit from energy efficient on-roof solar PV panels and EV charging bays, helping businesses to reduce not just outgoings but also their carbon footprint.

“And as well as contributing to improved thermal efficiency, the latest insulated panel technology used for each unit provides fire safety and lifetime durability.”
