A huge new residential development of 950 homes and an expansive public green space is being planned near Bristol.

The North Warmley proposals are currently open for public opinion, with developers promising a 'significant extension' to Warmley Forest Park.

Bloor Homes South West says the majority of the site in Warmley, equivalent to around 42 football pitches, will be converted into accessible open space. The land is presently privately owned.

The rest of the site will accommodate up to 950 new homes, including 'affordable and age-friendly housing', according to the plans.

The proposals also include a new local centre featuring shops, a café, workspace, nursery and a sustainable transport hub.

Mike Kerton, planning director at Bloor Homes South West, said: "Our proposals put green space first and create a place that works for people, nature and the wider community.Sign up to receive daily news updates and breaking news alerts straight to your inbox for free here."

"For centuries, this land has been under private ownership. Now, there is an opportunity for new public open space accessible to everyone for the first time.

"The development is shaped by the landscape and designed to deliver long-term benefits, from the significant extension of Warmley Forest Park to community facilities and workspace available to everyone.
