There will also be commissions of new work for the project, one of which will focus on the communities of Balsall Heath.

A second commission has a wider geographic scope, and calls for a submission that explores works within other parts of the city of Birmingham.

Two £600 bursaries are available for these commissions and interested parties are invited to submit short 250-400 word proposal of how they might use this bursary to develop a new body of work in response to the project.

A new website supporting the project is open to receive shared public submissions of photographs of Birmingham. To upload a photo to the project, visit  .

Images can also be submitted to the project directly via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using the hashtags #somecities and #brumfotos.

Based in Moseley Road, Balsall Heath, the Some Cities initiative is supported by Arts Council England, the University of Birmingham, mac Birmingham and Birmingham City Council.
