Peel Land commits to Ryder Cup golf course and housing development with work set to start in 2025

Peel Land has confirmed its commitment to commence 'limited works' next year on a Ryder Cup golf course and over 1,000 homes at Hulton Park. The plans for the expansive golf resort at the country park, west of Bolton, were approved by a planning inspector in 2022.

The ambitious development also includes a hotel and what Peel Land describes as 'a hub of inclusive golf' for the 海角视频. However, the project will only proceed if the venue is chosen to host a Ryder Cup in the 2030s.

Peel estimates that hosting the event could generate around a billion pounds of economic benefit for Bolton and the wider Greater Manchester region. No official announcement has been made regarding England hosting a future Ryder Cup.

Earlier this year, Peel announced that to ensure continued progress, they will initiate some limited works at the site before the current planning permission expires in October 2025. These works aim to upgrade the existing access track into the park for the benefit of current tenants while preserving the implementation of the broader development in the future.

Initial applications to facilitate such work have been submitted to Bolton Council following a review of options and discussions between the council and Peel Land on how to secure the investment, reports .

However, Peel has stated that the works will not affect the existing plans, but rather facilitate continued advancements towards the realization of this substantial investment. A Peel Land representative emphasized: "This is a transformational opportunity for Bolton – not only as a sporting venue and cultural destination but as a catalyst for long-term economic growth, job creation and investment.

"Our commitment to delivering the benefits of this project remains as strong as ever.

"The works proposed are a critical step in safeguarding the momentum we've built together with our public and private sector partners to unlock this major investment. It ensures that we can continue in confidence, working collaboratively to make Bolton a global sporting and cultural destination."
