Paymentshield reports record-breaking sales as firm 'on target irrespective of Covid-19'

The business not only finished 99% on course for its original 2020 plan - but has carried that momentum into 2021

A Merseyside-based insurance provider has reported soaring sales during the first six months of the year.

Paymentshield said year-on-year growth is set to be 38% for the first half of 2021 - having reported "a number" of record-breaking sales months.

The firm, which employs hundreds of people from its Southport HQ, said the "particularly outstanding" Q2 saw home insurance new business sales reach the highest-ever recorded level by the company growing by 68%, with sales of all products increasing by 31% year-on-year.

The results come in the slipstream of a series of awards for Paymentshield in July 2021, including Specialist Coverage of the Year at the National Insurance Awards and GI Provider of the Year at the Financial Reporter Awards.

The business, one of Southport's biggest employers, said it finished the half 99% on course for its original plan irrespective of Covid-19.

In the year ending December 31, 2020, the firm turned over £76m recording a net profit of £29.2m.
