A new All Party Parliamentary Group focused on modernising employment is to back up its commitment to promote the regions of the 海角视频 by taking its next meeting out of Westminster. And efforts in Hull to promote the ease of co-working in Britain's best connected city will help lead the conversation as it swaps the Thames river bank for the Humber.

Chaired by Hull West and Hessle MP Emma Hardy the APPG is inviting businesses to participate too, joining them at C4DI early next month. The panel will feature Paul Devoy, chief executive of Investors in People; Prof Stephen Hardy, Dean of Faculty of Business, Law & Politics at the University of Hull and Keith Rosser, chair of the Better Hiring Institute.

It is hoped the move will encourage business leaders across the country to join its discussions around providing meaningful support for the levelling up agenda.

Ms Hardy said: 鈥淭his APPG has been inspired by a desire to make 海角视频 hiring the fastest globally by harnessing technology to enable more people to work remotely in the regions instead of having to relocate to London. 鈥淲e鈥檙e practising what we preach by taking our next meeting out of the capital. We鈥檙e going to Hull because my work there has identified a groundswell of support for showcasing regional cities as destinations for employers.

鈥淚n particular, the Work Hull Work Happy initiative which we launched in 2022 found that digital developments in Hull have made the city the co-working working capital of the 海角视频. Hull-based businesses showed us how they are using the city鈥檚 unrivalled connectivity to employ local people working on national projects, with pay and conditions to match.

鈥淏y meeting in Hull, the APPG wants to bring together more businesses from Hull and the wider Yorkshire and Humber area to explore the opportunities which exist now and to consider how we build on those. It is vital that we do this in partnership with businesses because we can鈥檛 talk about modernising employment without finding out what employers want.鈥
