OneHumber Online business week to help 'Rethinking and Rebuilding Together'

Organisations united in resilience effort led by Humber LEP pitch in to support major effort in June

OneHumber Online business week to help 'rethinking and rebuilding together'.

The Humber’s business community has joined forces to create a week of online events to help companies strengthen and succeed through the coronavirus crisis.

Branded OneHumber Online and badged “Rethinking and Rebuilding Together” the sessions will fill the void left by the loss of Business Week to the lockdown.

The Humber LEP, the four Humber local authorities and membership and business support organisations from across the region have already joined forces to co-ordinate the local response to the pandemic by forming the Humber Economic Resilience Group.

Now, a week of online events will focus on the path ahead, as well as giving practical steps and advice for businesses of all sizes and sectors.

Stephen Parnaby OBE, recently installed as interim chair of the Humber LEP following Lord Haskins' retirement, said: “This is a tremendously challenging time for businesses across the Humber and together with our partners we want to be as supportive as possible to businesses in our region.

“While traditional events are out of the question for obvious reasons, there is no reason why we can’t support businesses in the virtual world and offer not just support, but practical help finding new pathways and opportunities and ways of helping businesses become as resilient as they can be.

“The coronavirus has made it difficult to be together in person – but we have the technology to provide essential support online and I’m so pleased that the Humber business community is coming together with this support.”

There is recognition that organisations will be looking to find new efficiencies and different ways of working.
