Coastal defence work that was paused while the contractor waited for a new delivery of rocks is set to restart.
Work got underway this spring on the prom at Old Colwyn with a rock barricade being installed from Rotary Way to Splash Point to protect the coastline, rail line and A55.
It saw the seafront road closed for up to 18 months.
But the £6m scheme by construction firm Griffiths was placed on pause in August while the contractor waited for a new delivery of rock to carry out the work.
The workforce was withdrawn but the prom road remained closed.
Now work is to resume.
A spokeswoman for Conwy council said: "The contractor is back on site and we are expecting rock deliveries before Christmas."
Back in September the council explained the reason for the pause.

They said: “We are currently awaiting the next delivery of rock for the coastal defence work.
“The work involves phases of blasting and stockpiling at the quarry, and phases of placing the material on the beach.
“Whilst they are waiting for the next delivery, the contractor has moved the larger machines off the prom to keep costs down.”
They added that the estimated 18 month timeframe had not changed.
