A large site has been acquired by a property developer who hopes to create offices, cafes and restaurants on the site of a former car showroom in Merseyside.

The plans are for an 11,000sq ft site on Liverpool Road in Crosby, being led by city developer Next Big Thing Developments.

They are subject to getting planning permission from Sefton Council, but would be called 'one one three', and include 20 modern, creative workspaces and open-plan office space alongside the cafes and restaurants.

Proceedings for the coastal town scheme are at an early stage, but this week, NBTD announced it had completed the acquisition of the site.

The firm said there are currently two regular restaurant/ cafe units proposed, both with dedicated pavement space and front door access to the main street, as well as a larger, self-contained 1,100 sq ft unit also set to be used as a restaurant.

A spokesman for the development issued a statement to BusinessLive on Tuesday saying: "The site has been acquired for a mixed use development focusing on studio offices, creative workspaces and restaurant / cafe uses, subject to planning."

It's hoped that subject to planning approval from the council, it will deliver open-plan studio offices around a central atrium, along with the workshop spaces and cafes/restaurants.
