New restaurants arriving in Birmingham next year

Our round-up takes a look at who is planning to open new venues during 2016 including the sky bar at Five Ways and swanky chain The Alchemist in Colmore Row

It has been an amazing year in Birmingham for foodies. We have had so many great restaurants open - not just in Grand Central, Resorts World and New Street but elsewhere.

So who else could be coming to the city in 2016? Surely, there is no more room to squeeze in any more eateries?

Here is a rundown of just some of the names expected to launch new venues in Birmingham city centre and beyond next year.

Park Regis Hotel

Five Ways, Birmingham

Birmingham's latest swanky hotel After a £50 million renovation, the hotel overlooking Five Ways will have the largest outdoor space of any Birmingham hotel with an extensive balcony to the 16th floor all-glass cocktail bar and an a la carte restaurant. No doubt it will become the place to be seen – and to see across Birmingham.

Harborne Kitchen

inside the old Walter Smith’s Butchers, Harborne.

Chefs Jamie Desogus and Mike Bullard set up pop up Butcher’s Social inside this old butcher’s shop in 2015 after planning issues caused delays to their original plan of setting up Harborne Kitchen.

And we have been loving their tasty chicken wings ever since. But now the lads are cracking on with their original plan for Harborne Kitchen.
