A Food Warehouse supermarket could be opened in Caerphilly, creating 25 jobs.
The retailer has submitted a planning application to take on the former Carpetright premises at the town's Gallagher Retail Park.
Food Warehouse stocks the same product lines as its parent organisation Iceland Foods whilst additionally providing bulk purchasing and "convenience" alternatives for shoppers.

Documentation filed with Caerphilly County Borough Council suggests the redevelopment would "improve customer choice within the town" and represent a "qualitatively different offer to the traditional high street stores".
A retail assessment by Lambert Smith Hampton contends there is a "clear" demand for the outlet, which would "help offset the recent loss of another specialist frozen food retailer" – alluding to Heron Foods' closure in the town centre several months ago.
The retail assessment notes the proposed Food Warehouse would function "in addition to the current outlet" Iceland operates on the town's Cardiff Road, where it has "recently renewed its lease".
In accompanying documentation, planning consultants Depol maintained a new Food Warehouse would "not adversely impact on the vitality and viability of Caerphilly town centre", instead drawing "primarily" on custom from other out-of-town retailers.
The planned outlet would "result in the delivery of 25 good-quality jobs in a range of roles" and "make use of an otherwise vacant unit in a retail location", they concluded. The council's planning department is presently reviewing a number of associated applications for the project, which includes seeking approval to diversify the range of merchandise that can be sold at the premises.
