Plans have been submitted for a new business centre in Beverley, creating space for around 30 companies.
The development, in Grovehill Road, would partly replace the existing business centre in nearby Annie Reed Road, providing a state-of-the-art new home for firms in the East Yorkshire town.
The plans, submitted by East Riding Council, include 16 office units and 14 light industrial spaces at the centre.
A document submitted with the plans said: “The new Business Centre will provide a landmark building offering superior facilities for new and existing businesses.
“Together with a considered landscape proposal, the development will regenerate a former demolition site and visually enhance the immediate area.
“The proposed development will in part provide a replacement building for the current Beverley Business Centre based at Annie Reed Road, Beverley.
“The accommodation will comprise predominantly a combination of office and light industrial units.”
Artist impression images of what the new business centre, in the heart of the Grovehill Road Industrial Estate, will look like have also been released.

The centre would be split into two separate wings – one for office use and one for industrial use.
Plans revealed one of the wings would be two storeys, with the ground floor for industrial use and the first floor being split up into 16 offices.
The second wing would be a single storey, for further industrial use.
The whole business centre would be able to house up to 135 people, including a conference room with capacity for 50 visitors.
Previously, the site of the proposed centre was home to the County Council Engineering Depot and ambulance station. It currently lies empty.
A planning statement said: “A high quality development will regenerate a demolition site and visually enhance the immediate area, which coupled with good transport links will provide an attractive location from which to initiate and conduct business.”
The project, according to plans, is part-funded through East Riding Council, the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and European Regional Development Fund (EDRF) funding.

Public body Natural England has already had its say on the plans, saying it has no objection to the new business centre.
Plans will now be scrutinised by East Riding Council’s own planning committee, before a decision is made on whether it gets the green light or not.
