Loganair has announced a new Cardiff to Glasgow scheduled service from early next year, but there will no service between the two cities for four months after Flybe pulls its existing route next month.
Earlier this year, Flybe confirmed the axing of a number of routes as well as no longer having a permanent base at the Welsh Government-owned airport, from October.
Now Longair has confirmed it will launch a Cardiff to Glasgow service from February 27th next year, but with a smaller plane capacity than the current provision from Flybe.
Operated by a 49-seat Embraer 145 jet aircraft, the new daily route from Loganair will have a flight time of 75 minutes.
Loganair commercial director, Kay Ryan said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to launch a new service from Cardiff 鈥 connecting Scotland and Wales鈥 largest cities.
鈥淭his is an important business route, but the city is also popular with leisure customers 鈥 as one of Europe鈥檚 most dynamic destinations.聽

Loganair has also announced new daily services from next year from Aberdeen to Haugesund, Norway and to the East Midlands and Brussels.
The聽 Brussels flights will run as an "optimised schedule via Newcastle", with聽Loganair聽also adding a route to Bergen from Newcastle as well a summer seasonal service to Guernsey.
