A new business grant programme has been launched by Humber Local Enterprise Partnership as part of the government鈥檚 Getting Building Fund.
The organisation received 拢13.4 million for six 鈥榮hovel-ready鈥 projects across Hull and East Yorkshire, and the new 拢1.5 million pot opens today.
It will offer financial support to small and medium sized enterprises that are looking to grow and create jobs, with scope to support businesses to make productivity improvements, safeguard jobs and instigate green recovery.
Two housing developments in Hull, a new rail innovation centre in Goole and upgraded cycle infrastructure to support access to work were also included in the award, announced last month, together with managed work spaces.
The new grant programme builds on the success of the LEP鈥檚 Growing the Humber programme 鈥 which has invested 拢35.4 million since 2013, leveraging 拢122 million from 442 businesses and supporting the creation of 2,840 jobs.

Minister for Regional Growth and Local Government, Simon Clarke, said: 鈥淲e want to build back better to fuel a green economic recovery across the country by investing in infrastructure, creating jobs and building the homes people need.
鈥淭hat is why, we are investing 拢900 million in shovel-ready projects through our Getting Building Fund, including 拢1.5m for the Growing Hull and East Yorkshire business grant programme. This funding will unlock homes, create new jobs and deliver investment in commercial and green spaces and a much-needed boost to the local economy.鈥
Grants of between 拢5,000 and 拢250,000 will be available to businesses, with potential to make exceptional cases.
Decisions are made by the Humber LEP鈥檚 investment panel, made up of local business experts.
Stephen Parnaby OBE, Chair of the Humber LEP, said: 鈥淚 am delighted that Government has confirmed funding for the projects we put forward, and we will be putting this to good use straight away.
鈥淕rowing the Humber was hugely successful in supporting businesses鈥 growth plans and creating new jobs. Growing Hull and East Yorkshire will continue this invaluable support for growing SMEs, and will also support green businesses and those wanting to become greener, more productive and more efficient.

鈥淭his targeted support is especially needed at this time to support businesses in their recovery from the economic impact of coronavirus, providing new or safeguarded employment opportunities while allowing companies to go forward with their business growth plans.
鈥淚 look forward to seeing the full package of housing, business space and transport projects progressing quickly over the coming months.鈥
The Humber Business Growth Hub鈥檚 business advisors will be available to discuss potential projects.
