The partnership will also extend beyond helping finance the club, with community projects and plans to spark a cultural shift, raising career aspirations for those in the town, also key elements.

Tech entrepreneur Mr Stockwood, who together with Andrew Pettit bought the club from John Fenty as the Mariners were relegated just over a year ago, said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a real pleasure to welcome Myenergi as the official club shirt sponsor of Grimsby Town FC. Launched in 2016, Myenergi is innovating in the microgeneration sector, supporting homeowners and businesses to go green - on a global scale.

From a background in solar, it has gone from a start-up to a state-of-the-art Stallingborough headquarters, where sales are expected to hit the 拢50 million mark soon, up from 拢17 million in 12 months. It is making major strides in Germany, Australia and Ireland, as well as the 海角视频 market, with a workforce set to double from 350 to 700 in the near term.

Already a backer of Cleethorpes Town and emerging electric vehicle racing and rallying, those pursuits will continue.

Jordan Brompton, co-founder and chief marketing officer, was at the London Stadium to see the Mariners secure a return to League Two at the first time of asking. The company also took out pitch-side advertising hoarding space at Sunday鈥檚 play-off final.

She said: 鈥淲hen the opportunity came up to sponsor Grimsby Town FC, we jumped at the chance. The club is a massive part of the local community, and while having a new sponsor is a big change after 18 years, we hope we can do the fans justice.

鈥淲e want to celebrate the town鈥檚 central role in the renewable energy revolution. As proud Grimbarians and passionate Mariners fans, we鈥檙e excited to kick-off the new partnership and look forward to seeing the Myenergi logo emblazoned across the Grimsby Town FC kit next season.鈥
