Midlands º£½ÇÊÓÆµ programme at MIPIM 2020 to promote some £12 billion of investment opportunities

Speakers revealed for Midlands º£½ÇÊÓÆµ delegation, promoting huge mixed-use schemes, transport and residential schemes

The Midlands º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Pavilion at MIPIM

Representatives of Jaguar Land Rover and HSBC will be among global business leaders supporting the Midlands and sharing their thoughts with international investors at the world’s largest real estate event next month.

They will be supporting a Midlands º£½ÇÊÓÆµ delegation attending the MIPIM property conference in Cannes, which takes place between March 10-13.

Unveiling its full programme for the conference, the Midlands team will focus on topics ranging from 5G connectivity to harnessing the economic potential of sport and culture.

A Team Leicester contingent will promote a “healthy growth, healthy people and healthy business” theme, highlighting the business opportunities around the city’s football, rugby, cricket and basketball clubs, as well as Loughborough University’s place as a global centre of sports excellence.

Midlands º£½ÇÊÓÆµ will also be promoting huge mixed-use schemes in the East and West Midlands, as well as major transport networks and new residential schemes – with an estimated combined value of £12 billion.

Sir John Peace, chairman of the Midlands Engine, will lead the delegation, which includes senior private sector leaders including Simon Richards, chief financial and engineering officer at Birmingham Airport, and Bek Seeley, managing director, development, Europe at Lendlease.

Also taking part are Ashley Kensington, managing director at St Joseph and Patric Cassidy, director of Cassidy Group, which recently completed a £25.1 million student accommodation development in Nottingham.

Matt Wallace, director of estates and building services at Leicester City Council, and Jonathan Bennett, head of strategic property services at Leicestershire County Council will reveal further details about new office, industrial, leisure and housing development schemes in Leicestershire when they speak at the Midlands º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Pavilion, outside the Cannes Palais des Festivals at 11.40am on Wednesday, March 11.
